Stop being so mean to Sarah Palin!

by twit

She’s not qualified to run for vice president, stop treating her like she is!

Shame on the press, trying to do its job!

Ms. Palin, the Republican vice-presidential nominee, is scheduled to meet Tuesday in New York with President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan, President Alvaro Uribe of Colombia, and former Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger.

But the McCain-Palin campaign’s sharp limitations on coverage of the meetings have sparked a mini-revolt – and a threatened boycott — among the press corps.

Thank goodness the McCain campaign was able to protect Palin!

When Gov. Sarah Palin sat down with President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan on Tuesday afternoon, the polite preliminaries to their conversation centered around children, as Mr. Karzai spoke of the birth of his first child last year.

… Then the pool of journalists was escorted out, and the meeting began.

Don’t worry, the Bush team is right there with her:

Accompanying Ms. Palin were Randy Scheunemann, a senior foreign policy adviser for the McCain campaign, and Steve Biegun, a former staff member of President Bush’s National Security Council who is advising Ms. Palin.

When candidates aren’t qualified for the jobs they are trying to win, this is what to expect, according to the Washington Post on September 22, 2008:

As of this writing, it has been 39 days and 22 hours since Sen. John McCain last held a news conference (despite having promised to hold weekly Q&A sessions with the press if he’s elected). According to the Democrats, it’s been 24 days and 11 hours since his running mate, Sarah Palin, held one.

So be nice to Sarah Palin!  We can’t have the American people finding out just how unprepared and unqualified she is!

update: via TPM on September 23, 2008, McCain has had a press conference.

and also via TPM, it looks like this twit isn’t the only one wondering what the McCain campaign is hiding about Sarah Palin…

Where’d you get that quote about how long it’s been since McCain or Palin has had a press conference? I’d like to steal it for my blog…
