In response to Stewart’s question about whether we have lost our humanity, Logan answers “yes.” One might infer that she is not impressed with the limited war news coverage generally available to Americans.

And now we get to learn that there are sex scandals. What a coincidence.

Not just in the Enquirer, also the esteemed New York Post.

Sexy CBS siren Lara Logan spent her days covering the heat of the Iraq war – but that was nothing compared to the heat of her nights.

The hell it was. Not this Glamour Woman of the Year…  via Radar:

CBS News chief foreign correspondent Lara Logan, also a woman of the year, said she had had serious reservations about accepting the shiny red statuette, thinking, “I hate women’s magazines, I never read these things,” and worrying that the glossies were all about “the perfect woman who’s been airbrushed almost to extinction.”

Not too shabby herself, Logan changed her mind when she realized that the magazine was also helping to fund charities like Empowering Hands. But after “running the gauntlet” of nail salons and getting sewn into her purple dress, Logan said, “I can’t wait to get back to Baghdad. New York has done me in.”

and she’s been called back to the States, if we’re keeping track of coincidences.

Lara Logan was named CBS News’ chief foreign affairs correspondent in June 2008. She will be based in Washington, D.C.

She will expand her international reporting responsibilities to include foreign affairs and international security issues, as well as U.S. policy as it is made across government departments and agencies. She will continue to travel internationally to cover major stories.

Logan’s bold reporting from war zones over the past 17 years has earned her a prominent spot among the world’s best foreign correspondents.
