Bush foreign policy advice is like weight loss tips from those fat twins on the scooters

Today the President in all his wisdom chided those who would negotiate with “terrorists and radicals.”
It is being perceived as a shot at Obama, for his (amazingly Christian, something you’d think our born-again crusader of a president would know) view of talking with our enemies in an attempt to resolve the issue by not having to start a multi-billion dollar, never-ending war.
“Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along,” Mr. Bush said.
“We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: “Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.”
We have an obligation to call this what it is — the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.”
What a son of a lame duck bitch he is.
It’s like John McCain calling Obama the “Hamas Candidate.”
What fuck jobs these guys are. And fear-mongering fuck jobs at that, both of whom who have supported a foreign policy that has actually made us less popular in the arab world while more-or-less ignoring the terrorists who actually did attack us on that blue morning nearly SEVEN years ago.
And really, should George W. Bush be giving anyone any foreign policy advice? He has single-handedly destroyed America’s reputation in the world and essentially dismantled 200 years of foreign relations, compromise and unity in a failed sandtrap (quagmires are swamps. ain’t no swamps in the desert) of war with no exit strategy.
Let’s review a few of the high points from this Adminstration’s handling of world affairs, shall we?
First, just two months after taking office, the pres reneged on a campaign promise to honor the Kyoto protocol and pulled the US out of it, drawing ire from around the world. It was a decision he would repeat, pulling out of both the anti-ballistic missle treaty with Russia and the Ottawa Treaty banning land mines.
The Bush Administration has also decided the Geneva Conventions do not matter, cut ALL funding for the United Nations Population Fund (they might tell people abortion might be an option), refused to join the international criminal court (though that’s probably for the best considering the whole Geneva-Conventions-don’t-matter attitude), and failed to deliver on a $100 million promise to the Food for Peace program.
Never mind the unjustified, pre-emptive and poorly-planned war-of-choice in Iraq that literally reversed 230 years of US policy and has actually made us less safe by creating a hotbed for terrorists, thinning our military and lowering our credibility in the world while diverting resources from the battle against Taliban and squandering an amazing opportunity in which the entire world was behind us (remember that “We are all Americans” headline in a French paper?), turning it into a low point of american popularity and influence in just a few short years.
Over the last five years, America’s image has plummeted throughout much of the world, including sharp drops in favorability among traditional allies in Western Europe, as well as substantial declines in Latin America, the Middle East, and elsewhere.
In the past year alone, positive views of the U.S. have declined in Pakistan, China, Egypt, and Germany.
No offense, Mr. President, but your credibility is not good. Perhaps if you had JUST ONE FUCKING FOREIGN POLICY SUCCESS of which to speak, I might could take you a bit more seriously, but until then, why don’t you leave the high stakes world of international diplomacy to the grown-ups, eh? Isn’t it about time for another one of your vacations?
