Karl Rove advises Clinton campaign

by twit

Rove wants Clinton to keep fighting, and he’d like a nice party-busting fight at the convention, too…

Karl Rove, the former political adviser to President George W. Bush, said the exhortations from some Democrats for Clinton to bow out seemed unwise.”I think it’s a mistake for his campaign to be calling for her to drop out,” Rove said on Fox. That would be seen as “rubbing her nose” in the fact that she is trailing, he said. “It’s up to the delegates at the convention to decide who wins and loses.”

and Clinton agrees that this would be a nice thing to do.

Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton suggested Monday she’ll press on with the campaign after Tuesday’s crucial primaries, arguing that momentum is on her side despite 11 straight losses to rival Sen. Barack Obama.

Rush Limbaugh also thinks it would be nice for Clinton to keep fighting:

Limbaugh has been actively urging his Texas listeners to cross over and vote for Clinton in that state’s open primary Tuesday, arguing it helps the Republicans if the Democratic race remains unsettled for weeks to come.

“I want Hillary to stay in this…this is too good a soap opera,” Limbaugh told fellow conservative talk-show host Laura Ingraham on Fox News Friday. He reiterated the comments on his Monday show and replayed the exchange with Ingram.

He also said Clinton is more willing than the Republican National Committee and John McCain’s campaign to criticize Barack Obama.

“We need Barack Obama bloodied up politically. It’s obvious that the Republicans are not going to do it, they don’t have the stomach for it,” Limbaugh continued.

One Response to Karl Rove advises Clinton campaign

  1. lestro says:

according to msnbc.com exit polls, Rush’s request did nothing:

No matter how you voted today, do you usually think of yourself as a:
    Category % Total Clinton Obama
    Democrat 66 53 46
    Republican 9 46 53
    Independent or something else 25 48 49

so only 9 percent of voters were repubs and 53 percent of those voted for Obama.

    gooooooooooo Rush!
